Policy Officer

Role description

The Policy and Reform & Legislation Branch sits within the Law Reform and Legal Services Division of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). The Branch contributes to the development of policy for the justice system and to delivering government reform priorities, including complex legislative reform projects. 

Paralegal

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our team. Paralegals in our team support our Solicitors to provide exceptional client experience, legal representation and insight to our clients. Your role is to assist with day-to-day legal and advocacy functions. There will be a component of basic administrative tasks as well - be prepared to roll up your sleeves.

Casual Paralegal

This is a casual paralegal opportunity. The successful applicant will be expected to work a minimum of two days per week (preferably three). The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for assisting solicitors in all services with a focus on Property and Conveyancing matters.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

Administrative Assistant/Paralegal

Role description

At Minors Family Law, we are looking for someone who can:

·       Be our office ‘welcomer’ and the client’s first point of contact;

·       Liaise with clients;

·       Assist our solicitors in such duties as preparing briefs to Counsel, drafting correspondence and basic legal documents, as well as file management.

·       Undertake research of relevant legislation, regulations and case law.

Paralegal/Law Graduates

Role description

The Environment Protection Authority has four Legal Graduate / Paralegal (Environment Officer Class 3) roles available within their Litigation Team and four Legal Graduate / Paralegal (Environment Officer Class 3) roles available within their Legislation and Legal Advice Team. All roles are available for up to two years. This recruitment process may be used to fill further roles as they become available in both the Litigation Team and Legislation and Legal Advice Team. Both teams comprise the EPA’s Legal Team.

Paralegal

Role description

We're on the lookout for a proactive and enthusiastic Paralegal or Law Graduate to join our small, tight-knit team 4 days per week on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.


You’ll be working closely with the two experienced lawyers, primarily on conveyancing and property files, but you’ll also gain exposure to a variety of legal areas, including Administrative Review Tribunal work and Estate matters.

This includes preparing formal submissions, engaging in lobbying and stakeholder engagement, supporting responsive advocacy, and participating in collaborative campaigns.
