The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) in association with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation New South Wales Branch (ANMF NSW Branch) is seeking an Assistant Legal Officer (Paralegal) to join our Professional Services team.
Paralegal/Law Student
Our personal injury team is looking for a Paralegal/Law student who is able to work 3-4 days a week during university sessions and additional hours over University breaks.
We are incredibly flexible with study - if you need time off for exams/assignments, just let us know.
You will be assisting our principal Terence Stern OAM with decision-maker work for the Personal Injury Commission (‘PIC’) and with Medical Negligence, Public Liability and Estates claims.
You will also be handling conveyancing/property matters alongside our Paralegal, Grace.
Paralegal
The Paralegal provides legal and administrative support and conducts research in a timely, efficient and professional manner to assist Investigations Solicitors and Litigation Solicitors within PS-LRD.
You may be assigned to either the Investigations Unit or the Litigation and External Intervention Unit and may be rotated as required between the Units according to workloads.

Criminal Law Paralegal
We are seeking a law student with experience in criminal law to join our team as a casual paralegal.
Applicants without experience in criminal will not be considered. Please do not apply without the relevant experience.

Law Clerk
Your responsibilities will include:
- General administrative and clerical duties
- File management and document preparation
- Answering phone calls and liaising with clients
- Scheduling appointments and diary management
- Assisting solicitors and support staff as required
- Data entry and maintaining accurate records
Paralegal
We are seeking a motivated paralegal, with a passion for criminal law, to join our specialist team.
The successful applicant will assist solicitors with paralegal and administrative tasks, such as drafting correspondence, legal research, court and registry filings, drafting documents such as chronologies and brief of evidence summaries as well as ad hoc office administration.
The role is a paid casual position. The applicant must be available 2 days per week, with flexibility around exam periods and university breaks.

The Hon. Justice Stern is currently considering applications for the role of Tipstaff commencing in January 2028. The position is full-time with an expected duration of 18 months, comprising 6 months as Tipstaff and 12 months as Associate.
Her Honour is also considering applications for the role of Tipstaff commencing in July 2028, comprising 12 months as Tipstaff and 6 months as Associate.
