Your Contribution & Responsibilities

A Paralegal (Level 4) provides sound paralegal and administrative support to members of the Legal & Compliance team.

This role will:

• Undertake routine paralegal and administrative work, such as conducting legal research, data entry, reviewing, interpreting and summarising investigation reports and other documents, and drafting correspondence and relevant documentation.

• Follow clear instructions from members of the UNSW Legal & Compliance team.

The Associate’s role is to provide high-level legal and administrative support. The Associate is responsible for managing her Honour’s Chambers and is the first point of contact for all members of the public and the profession. The role encompasses assisting her Honour with complex legal research, drafting, in-court duties, and general day-to-day administrative tasks. Her Honour primarily sits in the Sydney Downing Centre but will, on occasion, travel to courts in regional New South Wales for short circuits

What you’ll do

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts
   
• Run conveyancing files end-to-end with guidance.
   
• Liaise with clients, agents, financiers and counterparties; manage timelines and risks.
   
• Research and distil NSW legislation and case updates into practical advice.

Women’s Legal Service Victoria has partnered with community legal centres across the state to deliver our Emerging Lawyer Program which will improve access to justice for victim-survivors of family violence.

The program is available to newly admitted lawyers, with less than 12 months practising experience.

Graduate Lawyers will have the opportunity to work with experienced community lawyers with expertise in family violence and family law. Across 18 months, lawyers will undertake specialist training in Melbourne and online alongside other lawyers committed to gender equity.
