Role description
Student volunteers are invited for the following projects, 1. Business and Human Rights: Modern Slavery & 2. Disability Rights. Please refer to the project description attached below and see the link within the PD for more information.

Paralegal

Role description
This is an excellent opportunity for students in the early stages of their degree to gain experience working in a commercial law firm. Paralegals will be engaged in legal research, drafting and will have frequent opportunities to work with senior practitioners.

Researcher

Role description
The Researcher will: 1. Prepare research briefs on modern slavery, risk factors associated with modern slavery, and government responses to modern slavery. 2. Use research techniques to identify reliable sources that provide insight into modern slavery prevalence and risk factors in specific locations and industries. 3. Clearly and concisely summarise the key findings of sources relating to modern slavery in a manner that can be presented to stakeholders with little to no background knowledge on modern slavery.

Lawyer

Role description
• Assist with the preparation of affidavits and other evidence; • Respond to client enquiries regarding class actions; • Brief and instruct counsel; • Conduct legal research; • Assist with the preparation for mediation and trial.

Paralegal

Role description
The role is working with the lawyers on commercial, corporate, regulatory and intellectual property related matters. Working closely with the principal and senior lawyer, you would conduct research, prepare documents for despatch to clients, draft advices and agreements, attend conferences with clients, conduct ASIC and ATMOSS searches and filings, and other legal and paralegal matters.

Paralegal

Role description
As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing legal, clerical and administrative support to solicitors and staff in relation to a range of work including civil claims, both litigated and not litigated and work relating to the Inquests, Inquiries and Representation portfolio of work.
