Law Graduate - Sydney
We are seeking one motivated Graduate Lawyer to join our team in Sydney. This program will combine an 18 week PLT with the College of Law with real responsibility and autonomy working at Avant Law providing an excellent opportunity for professional development in a dynamic legal environment.
Avant Law (Medical Indemnity) is Australia’s largest specialist medico-legal law firm. Over 12 months, you will have the opportunity to rotate every three months through a range of different practice areas including:
Law Clerk, 2026 – 2027 Summer Clerkship, Policy, Reform and Legislation
The Policy, Reform and Legislation Branch sits within the Law Reform and Legal Services Division of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). The Branch contributes to the development of policy for the justice system and to delivering government reform priorities, including complex legislative reform projects.
Lawyer - Office of General Counsel
The Lawyer - Commercial & Administrative Law is responsible for provision of high quality, timely, ethical and professional legal services in relation to civil matters involving the NSWPF. This can include administrative law litigation and advice (particularly in the regulatory and licensing context), privacy and open government, government finance and procurement, general commercial work, real property, intellectual property, and media law.
Legal Officer, Energy
The newly formed Energy Team sits at the forefront of providing legal advice on the State’s clean energy transition. NSW is rapidly shifting towards a low‑emissions energy system, and our legal team plays a critical role in advising on the legal frameworks that will shape our future energy systems. The team’s remit spans some of the most dynamic and high‑profile areas of government: the delivery of the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, energy emergencies, gas and pipeline regulation, consumer energy protections, and emerging climate and decarbonisation initiatives.
Paralegal
Our team specialises in defendant insurance law, acting for top 20 ASX listed companies, underwriters, brokers, insurers, insureds, public and private companies, state and federal governments, as well as the London insurance market.
Associate
he purpose of this role is to provide support services to Chief Commissioner and Commissioners, to facilitate effective compulsory examinations and public inquiries, as well as provide a range of general and legal administrative services within the Executive Support unit.
This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in administrative operations while developing an understanding of legal practices and processes, making it ideal for those seeking to build their legal career.

Legal Research Assistant
An outstanding law student is sought to work as a Legal Research Assistant on a casual, ongoing basis. The role involves preparing detailed legal memoranda and first drafts of submissions and advices, as well as reviewing and researching academic work, including a legal textbook. This is a high-level legal research and drafting role rather than an administrative position.
