Legal Intern/Clerk

Role description

The Larry D. Thompson Internship will award up to two (2) penultimate or final year law students with a unique opportunity to complete a paid 8-week in-house internship with PepsiCo ANZ. You will have the opportunity to work closely with members of our Legal team and will be supported during your internship by an in-house counsel mentor. The internship aims to give you exposure to different business functions from a legal perspective, with meaningful work such as legal research, drafting advice, contract reviews, and marketing reviews.

Paralegal

Role description

You will work along side another Paralegal supporting 5 practitioners in administering electronic and physical files.

Tasks will include: 

  • file management, indexing documents and collating financial disclosure documents
  • collating and updating Court documents
  • opening new client files physically and electronically
  • archiving completed files
  • drafting documents
  • dictaphone typing
  • general office duties including answering the phone, greeting clients and collecting mail.

Law Clerk (2025 - 2026 Summer Clerkship) - Policy, Reform and Legislation

Role description

Policy, Reform and Legislation is responsible for ensuring that the legal and policy framework of the Department of the Communities and Justice is aligned with the government's current priorities. This role includes ensuring quality legal policy advice is provided to Ministers, formulating changes to the law, and implementing Ministers’ legislative programs, within the communities and justice sector.

Role description
  • Manage files end-to-end across estate planning, probate, and estate administration.
  • Draft & review Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate Applications, testamentary trusts, and related documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide client-centred advice, explaining complex concepts with clarity and empathy (always under senior supervision).
  • Research legislation and emerging best practice in Wills & Estates law, keeping our knowledge base current.

Law Graduate or Paralegal

Role description
  • Preparing and processing property documentation including legal documents and general correspondence
  • Providing support to the Solicitors
  • Maintaining all files and keeping the database up to date
  • Liaising with clients, lenders and other external stakeholders and colleagues
  • Opportunity to learn and grow in the property space
  • Conveyancing Assistance in preparing settlements for clients, including taking carriage of matters from exchange to settlement
  • Sale Contract Preparation for both residential and off plan developers.
